Prices seem to be falling on the "hardest to find" red coin in the Lincoln Wheat series.....

Hi Collectors....

Well in my dreams I think of owning a 1926-s RED PCGS MS=64 Lincoln coin. So as a dreamer I watch the sale of these coins and see what is happening with them. So in the last 2 years have you noticed the price has fallen!? Yes that is right, the price for the sale of a 26-s Red MS-64 cent is falling. Also the price on the lone MS-65 Red example has fallen?

If you bought the PCGS MS-65 Red example in 2006 and then decided to sell it now, well you would of lost over 40,000 dollars. The 2006 price was 149,000 dollars and the December 2008 price was 106,000 dollars!

The price on the MS-64 Red examples are down. A few years ago you would of paid about 10,000 to 14,000 dollars to pick one up in a PCGS holder. Now the last few sales have been under 10 grand as of Sept. 2008?

I can not comment on the NGC sales, as my quick search only showed about 6 or 7 sales of PCGS coins. No NGC coins.

The population of this coin has only gone up a few coins in the last 5 years? So all the collectors or dealers sitting on one, have come out of the wood work to sell now and get the most bang for the buck. This tells me the market was inflated. Not that the supply has increased alot.

I have not checked other coins, like a 1913-s Barber Quarter or a 1916-d Mercury Dime, but something tells me this might be the case all over. We all rode the roller coaster up and now its coming down some.

So now more than ever is the time to buy a bargain or one of the not so often seen key date coins! Strike while the market is a buyers market and not a sellers market! If you can?
