Trouble with crossovers

Attempted a cross to PCGS from a 1911-D Quarter Eagle NTC MS63 with AU58 set as min and a 1912-S NGCAU58 half eagle with no minimum grade set. Guess what happened?

Neither coin crossed. They got returned with no explanation what so ever. You would figure for $50 in grading fees you would at least get an explanation. Oh well, so much for having my whole collection in one type of holder. Both coins are nice examples and will have to find a home with someone who does not care so much about the holder. I am just one of those people that can't stand to have a bunch of holders all the same and the one slightly different shaped one in the middle distracting the eye.

Aside from the griping above I do have to admit that most gold coins I have bought in PCGS holders would be strong candidates for the NGC* at the same grade level or 1 above. Kinda makes you think that if it does not meet NGC eye appeal standards that PCGS automatically knocks it a few grades down.

Oh well such is life.
