Stolen Morgan Dollar!!!!!

Superior Galleries was selling a few of my Morgan?s and one of my coins was stolen out of their possession!!!!!

Long story short:

I sent some PCGS graded Morgan?s to Superior Galleries for them to auction off for me. After the coin was withdrawn from its second auction, I received the following email:

?Dear Mr. Sachs,

We have some very unfortunate news. We are missing the above items that were slated for an above auction and have to assume they were stolen. ???..?

It was an 1887-P MS66 cert #21921010. I?m sure whom ever took it has cracked it out. Must have looked under graded or something as there were higher graded Morgan?s to grab.

Now, I don't want to go into all of the details regarding my experience with Superior Galleries but suffice it to say that I seriously doubt that I will be doing any further business (buying or selling) with Superior Galleries. I was totally screwed over from the beginning by Superior Galleries. I asked my consignment representative Richard about getting some compensation in addition to the $375 that coin cost me, for instance, a refund of my listing fees (5%), Richard (who was totally let down by the ?team? behind him) says he was pushing for me but no.

Did I mention that Superior Galleries lowered the reserve on many of my coins in the first auction my coins were in with Superior Galleries? And did I mention that someone got a steal on a PCGS 1888-S MS64 Morgan for $500?! Did I mention that they claim and have forwarded me that e-mail that they were lowering the reserves from the earlier agreed upon prices? Did I mention they sent that e-mail to the wrong e-mail address? Did I mention that they never followed up with me on that or anything? Did I mention that Richard was uninformed about the lowering of the reserves until I asked him about the low winning bids? Did I mention they gave me the wrong pay off date for the first auction? Did I mention that when they sent me my remaining coins back, they indicated an inventory enclosed but none was found?

Bottom-line- At every junction where there was an opportunity to provide competent customer service, Superior Galleries failed.

Here is one of the Morgan?s that did not sell. I love the patina on this coin and I am glad it?s back home!
