ERROR OR MARKETING PLOY?

I just was wondering if there were any thoughts on possibly the mint producing this "error" on purpose? You have to wonder why subtle changes were made to the reverse of this coin anyway- too subtle for even casual notice. The mint has become an expert marketer, knowing exactly what we "get into" and what will get us all excited. I suppose it is a mute point anyway- it is what it is and we can all enjoy the result. I was fortunate in that all of my mint orders came in with the "error", and according to what I have read, only some 47,000 were produced making it the rarest mint state Silver Eagle. Also, so as not to take anything away from the "regular" 2008 W, it should ultimately make it more valuable as well since it's mintage will probably be lower also because of the "error" production? Marketing tactic or not, it has worked for them, and has made this a spring to remember.....You've got to love this hobby!
