NGC Simply does not care.
They are catering to the television hucksters.
I have recently read in another forum that NGC has over 100,000 SAEs to grade for the TV hucksters. It seems that they have no commitment to real numismatists any more. I also learned from one of their graders that each one of them grades about 1000 coins per day. If they work an eight-hour day, that allows them a maximum of 14.4 seconds to grade each side of a coin. With one poin often having an impact of several hundred dollars, how much confidence can we really have in an NGC slab. Take a look at the forums; NGC's satisfaction rate is dropping like a stone. Read about PCGS and they are no better. It seems that TPG slabs carry about the same level of confidence as a cardboard 2x2.
