Three Cheers for Jackson and His Buddy

I have to admit it, I love Jackson's contributionts to the journal. I think he should get the 2007 contribution award as well as the 2006 already purveyed. His articles are fun to read. Who else here is known for their specific collecting focus (sailing ships) that Jackson is? It's also really great to hear about David Bowers and his real life quality. As Jackson wrote there ius only a moderate (OK I admit, as well, a lot) amount of snobbery in the coin collecting community, A HUGE name in the field sending a fellow collector an autographed book on not one but two separate occasions is surreal. I am fortunate to have found a few of the big guns who don't mind the pip squeeks such as myself, to nibble at their ankles and ask for crumbs. None have gone to the extent that Mr. Bower's did for Jackson, but the sentiment is the same. So, to all of you big guns who don't flick collectors such as myself away like a mosquito, I thank you. Jackson, I also thank you for your contribution to my collecting enjoyment. Here's to a great 2008! Cheers!
