Are there such things as honest coin dealers?

Mr. Cooper is right on when he states that there are some great dealers and some horrific dealers. Even in a town like Sacramento the difference stands out like a sore thumb. I have the good fortune of having met Connie and Dave at Excelsior Coin in Sacramento. There are other shops in town and I even visited one once. Boy I didn't realize how good I had it. Talk about shady. When Connie and Dave were on vacation I needed some supplies and showed up at one of the other shops to see if they had anything, there were Sheriff's Department tape on the door and numerouse notes from the City about getting a BUSINESS LICENSE. I ran. Connie and Dave are a blessing, not even in disguise. She is so sweet and kind, with a little bit of sass that makes her a joy to be around. This woman will look through a roll of Silver Eagles to make sure her buyer gets the best. Dave also has a great sense of humor and a keen eye for quality. I respect both of them tons.

Likewise, there are a few people and places on-line that I purchase from. When I find them, boy do I keep them. They aren't that hard to find nor are the horrible dealers. All it takes is once and goodbye forever.

It made me sick to hear about the "dealer" (read thief) who charged his customers $50 to have a coin graded by NGC. It can really have a negative impact on all of us.
