I dont think that sounds right, about being a point where the lettering would be applied to the same spot each time. Not saying its impossible, just dosent seem like they would do that. However, I used to screen print, and we used similar marks to line up our screens for multi-colored patterns, so that they were all uniform in location on the shirt, hat, ect. So you may be right, but it would be a shame if they are minting coins using that process. It damages the coin before it ever sees the light of day. Some would say that its only a small mark, but a flaw is a flaw. Maybe only a few thousand, or 10,000 were made like that, and you have a collection of new error coins. Would be sweet if the spots actually increased the value. Just had to put my two cents in.
