2007 SAC ERRORS
What in the world is going on at NGC?
OK, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had run across an error on the reverse of 2007 Sac Dollars from the Philladelphia Mint and had sent them off (5) to be graded. I listed them as "errors" with a lengthy discussion about where on the coin to find the "error" (over the "E" in "E Pluribus Unum"). I have two whole rolls of these- and have not found any more- so I know that the error is, in fact, an error. It gets better- today they posted the images and results, and 2 were graded ms67, one ms 66, one ms68 (not too bad for a Sac with a bad blemish on the back!), and one was body bagged due to a "damaged OBVERSE"- although they were PERFECT on all obverse's when I mailed them! So, I'll print the back of the MS68 Sac for your review- the error shows as a "burnished" spot over the "E"...upon 5X magnification it appears to be "wing tips".....I would appreciate any thoughts on this subject, or just what it might take to get NGC to actually READ their invoices before they grade them.
