Its all alphabet soup.

Being a new collector is like being a new sports fan. The terminology is the killer. For instance, on the Morgan dollar, I've seen 7 TF and 8 TF along with VAM. I think the TF stands for Tali Feathers (don't laugh), but what is a VAM? What is a DMPL. I've got SMS for Special Mint or Satin Matte Surface. Is there any book, website or tutor willng to teach the not so young Paduwan. I need a good book on collecting of US coins, but I don't want to read anything the size of the Yellow Pages. Any suggestion? Thanks, Edjoo
