Coin Cover Wall Art

I've had a set of Westward Journey first day coin covers for years. I always liked the designs (of both the coins and the covers).

And I am a big fan (maybe the only fan? hah!) of the Sacagawea dollars. So I bought a coin cover of the first issue, and then had it signed by both obverse designer Glenna Goodacre, and reverse designer Thomas D. Rogers, Sr. (after we had a nice chat about his design via email).

But all six coin covers have been locked up in my safe for years, where I can't see them easily.

So today I finally decided to buy a frame and some photo-corner-sticky-holder things and put together this wall-hanging presentation.

I love it. And now I can see the coins and covers every time I look up from my desk. :)

Good to see you back after a while. I love your idea to display your first day covers. There is a balance between security and displaying your collection for enjoyment. Too many of my coins are locked away of necessity and I miss enjoying them. Do you still do the symphony collection? I always liked that set. Gary

Gary! Glad to see you're still here! I do still have the Symphony Set (it's a custom set so doesn't show on the new Registry yet), and in fact, I just sent three new raw coins in to NGC this week for that set. I'll write a journal update with pictures when I get them back from grading. :)

Very nice presentation.  That's the kind of thing you could probably offer to others at a premium above the cost to assemble.

Alan, I'm back from a 6 year hiatus and the first journal I read was about your Westward Journey display. You are not the only perxon who likes them. I really am impressed with your idea and may make one also. I really am amazed at the ideas you creative people come up with.
