Somebody smack me and say that I'm wrong!
Alright, I have the cherrypickers book, and I have heard of the "thickness" in a double die, but have never seen one until now, and it's not listed. Now i've had these dimes for some odd 25+ years, and really haven't looked at them since I bought them. There once was an article in COINS magazine that said that the Roosevelt dime was going to go out of circulation (much like the talk of the penny going out) so that's why I bought these.
Now after looking at them, and somewhat knowing what to look for, I first noticed the R in LIBERTY...then the bottom of the B...then the rest of the letters. But most notably was the R and B and how thick they were. Same goes for IN GOD WE TRUST, and on the doubled one there is extra metal under the 4 on the date, 1954.
Now, should I submit this as an error...as a double die, even though it's not listed? Look at the picture (as best as I could take it) and PLEASE let me know what you think!
