Truly interesting, Dave. The medium grades of the 1794 seem to have progressed better than the higher grades. Thanks for the info.

Part of the dramatic rise in the apparent price of the 1794 half dollar is due to the fact that the NumisMedia FMV for the coin was horribly outdated in January 2006. I had in fact been in touch with NumisMedia to change the errors in this issues price structure since that time and with the data I have given them they have raised the price level several times. Therefore, while the 1794 has gone up in price, it has not had such a dramatic ascendancy if one understands the flaw in the pricing scheme.
