1984 S Lincoln Cent--possible RPM?

3 posts in this topic

Here's a 1984 S Lincoln Cent which I believe is an RPM-I have looked at it in most every angle and way and it appears the same. Your opinion will be appreciated.

Hi Jim,

You have to careful with these Lincoln proofs because they can show "flat field doubling" that is not a collectible form of doubling. Go to Ken Potter's site, he shows a good example of this in his section of non-collectible doubling coins. Here is an example I have of an 83S that shows similar doubling. But before you toss yours aside, check out Ken's site for extra verification.

Thanks, JRocco

I went to his page and lo and behold he had a 1984 S Lincoln Proof with the same FFD that mine has. Very informational. Thank you again for the valuable info.

Jim
