The condition of a coin that is identifiable only as to date, mintmark (if present), and type; one-year-type coins may not have a date visible.

Basal value ...

DING...DING...DING....Basal State is also equivalent to a PO-1 grade.

SUPER JOB ROBBIE

A Black Cabinet Coin is any coin raw/graded that is known by the owner to be altered/faked but is kept as a learning tool. It is also labeled as such and kept separate from other coins in assurance that it will never re-enter the hobby as a authentic coin.

examples:

1922 no D cent (D removed)

1916 dime added D mint mark

1909 VBD with added S Mint Mark

1932 with a sandwhiched reverse that has D Mint Mark

1943 copper coated steel cent
