I have always loved Joihn's sets. You and John share a common goal in the buffaloes. If you like commems then check out the link in Fatman's Sigline. Talk about some nice stuff! Congrats to John. Mark you are no slouch yourself.

Thanks again guy’s. It means a lot to me to receive all of these congratulatory comments about this award. This is especially so because so many of them come from people who I hold in the highest regard, both personally and as numismatists.

WoW! What a set! That Lafayette is a stunner!

daunting task of trying to assemble a complete set of them, including the two Norse medals.

John, what's the scoop about not finding a Norse thin?

John, what's the scoop about not finding a Norse thin?

Hi Victor,

It’s pretty simple really, I just haven’t found one that I liked yet. I’m looking for an MS-65 example with eye appeal, and that’s like looking for the proverbial ‘needle in a haystack’

All but one of the examples I have seen so far have been down right ugly in my opinion. The one nice example was in a Heritage auction a while back. I bid what I thought was strong money for it, but was blown away by the time the auction ended.
