As long as the mint's putting out spoon...

Wouldn't it be kind of cool if the mint went through a number of years where they changed the designs of our coinage to replicate all of the previous designs (e.g change the nickel to be a shield nickel one year, V-nickel the next, buffalo, and so on and so forth for cents through halves)? That's a mint program I could get on board for.

 

Then (and I'm dreaming here) the mint could change all of the current designs to something of great artistic merit and leave it alone for 25 years.

I believe the mint has been on a tear recently and needs to stop introducing so many new issues.
If they behave like most companies selling collectibles to collectors, they'll probably keep putting out new stuff until people stop buying. The demand certainly seems to be there.

 

So to get them to stop or slow down, buy less!
