I just got my NGG Passort...waiting to get customs to stamp it for approval. I can't run anymore, so I just kinda strolled over...been reading what people have to say here...interesting.

I've had dual citizenship for quite some time but almost never came here except when I had a specific question for the NGC people. (Nothing wrong with the forum here, just didn't have the time to do both, and the PCGS forum was the larger and more active of the two.) Of course now I'm an refugee.

I've been here for a long time.

Perhaps "Sleepy Hollow" hasn't been as active as across the street, but the quality of the participation has been outstanding!

Sounds kindo like you're expecting to...
Heh. Personally I have no plans to be banned, but I'm also not going to suck up and be a PCGS Forum Yes Man, either. Who knows what that could lead to depending on the mood. There's more suction over there right now than there is in a place that sells vacuum cleaners.

Haven't been banned yet.

With Conder and Mark Feld both banned, I think it's safe to assume that anyone's head could potentially be on the chopping block. I don't usually say much on controversial topics, and the particular topic they're sensitive to holds no interest to me, but under the new rules, anything could happen. I think Mr. Hall summed up the attitude: The board sucks up revenue and doesn't contribute to the bottom line. With that attitude towards the board, it seems to me like they're just itching for a reason to pull the plug.

I haven't actually immigrated here, but I was made curious by the fact that several knowledgeable people I know have been bammed there and now reside here. I currently have dual citizenship.

Pretty much the same boat I'm in. The PCGS forum was the 1st one I found and I never really left. It is almost a full time job keeping up with that place. I've lurked over here on occasion, but never registered. Will be nice to learn from a new bunch of folks, as well as some familiar names.

I've been a membr here for years. I just haven't stopped in very often. I looks like another round of unjustifiable bannings are in the works. I haven't been banned there, and I don't post enough for that to be likely. Of course there was that one thread were I attempted a satirical defense of the "First Strike" designation on the grounds that it was a "marketing ploy." Their skin is so thin these days that I don't know how they would react to that under current conditions.

I'm here. Not banned across the street, and I'm not looking to be, but with "management attitudes" over there I may make an innocent comment on one of their bazillion "guess the grade" threads and get the boot. Especially since they seem to be banning MUCH more important people than me for reasons even less than that

I'm also seeing a lot of familiar names on here. And based on their member start dates and/or their low post count, I suspect some of them are new to this board too.

Hope all you Old-Timers don't mind this influx of all us newbies

I've had dual citizenship for quite a while also, but just didn't come here very often. Like others have said the atmosphere over there has changed. I hope no one minds if I hang around here - I'll try to be a good citizen.

I agree 100% with Bruse Lee----You guys are most welcome. From what I know from both boards, it appears that an awful lot of Numismatic knowledge has crossed the street in the last few days. Even though Sleepy Hallow may never be quite as sleepy anymore----I can see that as being a positive thing. And that opinion coming from me, an old guy of 60----who normally hates change. I’ve had dual citizenship for quite a while, but I never posted here very much – some thing over 900 posts prior to now. To date I have not been kicked out of “Soviet Union of PCGS,” but I might be if they read what I’ve written over here about them. I’m really disappointed in their behavior.

I don’t like the fact that they have banned some very good people. I really dislike censorship and won’t support those who practice it heavy handedly for no good reason. For example I would oppose showing porn films to children, but I think that the standards should be far more free wheeling for adults. After all one of the definitions of being an adult is the ability to tell right from wrong and not be taken in by evil.

I guess you would say I’m on a self imposed exile. Six months ago I wrote some glowing thing about the CU forum when NGC conducted a poll. Today my responses would be far different.

I lost my citizenship over there in the Friday purge, so I guess that makes me an immigrant.

This may become the brave new world.

To seek out new coins... new die varieties.

To boldly go where no numismatist has gone before!

Sorry... I couldn't resist!! 27_laughing.gifinsane.gif27_laughing.gifinsane.gif27_laughing.gifstooges.gif
