Fitness - weighlifting, aerobic-type workouts, and walking (had to give up running - damaged ACL in one knee tongue.gif). Now that I've moved to Maryland, I'm also considering taking up hiking.

Golf - I enjoy it, but I'm not very good and only get to play infrequently

Music - don't play any instruments, just enjoy listening. Mainly jazz, rock, blues, R&B, and classical.

Other than that, my kids and family life in general keep me pretty busy grin.gif

I've been playing pool for 50 years, and no, you don't want to play me unless you like to rack. My favorite games are One Pocket and 3-Cushion Billiards. I also collect pool & billiard memorabilia, shot glasses and casino chips.

Besides coins, which takes up most of my free time and money, I do homework. Lots of homework.

I also have recently started getting into wines (my 21st birthday was just a couple of months ago, so this is a very new hobby.)

I also am big into movies. I like good movies, and this often takes me into the realm of black and white or even silent movies. My friends don't get it, and will not watch anything made before 1985.

I started collecting coins in 1970, a year later I join local astronomy club, I have been active in these two hobbies since with coins being off and on but the astro thing has been pretty constant over the years. One of my favorite things to do in my astro hobby is photographing the stuff I’ve seen, imagine that. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Here are a few shots I’ve taken over the years:

This solar eclipse shot was taken on July 11, 1991 from Kona Hawaii. This is easily the most spectacular astronomical event I’ve seen. I was able to view one other total eclipse in 1998 by going to Aruba.

I like to paint and draw - which is good since I do that for a living. Lately

I’ve become interested in sculpting. My Jack Russell demands a lot of my

time. I’m a dog-person so that’s cool. I also like reading and I write a bit as

well. I make homemade soda pop. I used to brew it but now I mostly do

the forced-carbonation process - it’s faster. I tend to pick up new interests and

get bored with others as I get proficient. Coin collecting - well, it’s going to take

a LONG time before I get any good at it so there is no chance of me getting

bored anytime soon. wink.gif

Thanks. I just took it this morning. I whistled for him to perk his ears up.

You reckon that it turned out better than this one:

Rexcat, nice work. What kind of setup? I'm mainly into planetary, with a special interest in Mars. I had my 15 seonds of fame on CNN, MSNBC, Space.com and some other media outlets in 2005 due my discovery/image of a dust storm on Mars.

Those are just a couple of pics. I have hundreds. Besides coins and planetary imaging I like to drink beer, yard work, antiquities and militaria. Edited to add: I play the piano and guitar. Not great, but good enough to strum along to most songs.

Besides coins, I have a large pin collection. The collection is centered around things that mean something to me, whether it is from an organization I belong to, where I have been, or something in my past, I try to obtain at least one pin that represents that memory.

I am just now getting into digital photography. I taught myself Photoshop and feel comfortable enough to try to produce something of real quality.

Otherwise, it's all work. Other than my real job, I do a lot of writing on the side. While I no longer ghost write for anyone, I've been contributing to books, reviewing articles, and working on different manuscripts. Most of my work is in the information security and other technology areas, but I have a small project that numismatic-related. Some day I will finshed these manuscripts!! cool.gif

I probably have a couple hundred of pins myself. I also have some political buttons, a collection of arrow heads and also old barbed wire.

I also have two authentic African spears from Kenya and a couple of bayonettes.

Oh, and did I mention that I have a license plate from every state as well as a number of stamps. I guess that the boundaries of my collecting tastes know no bounds.

I also have approximately a hundred different English translations of the bible and most of the books in various action and western series.

I also have a number of old bottles, some very unique as well as a 1919 Dr. Pepper bottle. I have quite a collecton of beer cans including two "Foster" cans which are printed upside down and full.
