1809 Bust half - trying to improve the pics

Trying different things to get the coin right, maybe not there yet but don't think this is too far off:

Pretty color and luster looks good, but is the plastic causing a hazy look?

I think it's a combination of the plastic and my inability to get a good enough focus. The camera has automatic focus, I don't know if I can do it manually, but it seems to me hit or miss, I just don't know.

Maybe if you reduce the contrast, the haziness will go away.

Mike, I brought your images in, merged them, sized the resulting image down a bit, and then hit the old "auto-adjust". Don't know if this is any better, but here you go!

 

 

It is an exquisite coin, one I would gladly own.

James, I can't merge photos with my software. What are you using?

If you have MS Paint you can create a side by side like James did.....not sure what program he used but it is very easy in Paint

Macromedia Fireworks will also work if you happen to have a copy of that for some reason.

I did indeed use MicroSoft Paint. It's included with my PC. I don't own any third-party imaging software.
