Elbesaar
The MS set isn't complete - plus, I have a few newps to have imaged which I picked up since last Summer FUN. My photographer, Valente151 is visiting this weekend - and he's got his work cut out for himself. Here are a few of my MS coins of 1889.... YES, THERE IS NO CC MORGAN.... Sold this awhile ago... Because this was my Grandfather's Birthyear - I have too many coins to post ...I'll add a few here and there as the Thread requires... At least 50 coins of 1889.... MikeKing
I must say that those are really lovely coins, all of them. I like that you created a really nice collection of coins representing your Grandfather's birth year. It's funny because I've never done that so extensively, but have, in the past, purchased coins based on the birth year of a family member, and I've been contemplating doing that again. I do have one thing to say about one of your indian cent coins. I think there is something wrong with it, or maybe it's just the way you took the photograph. At first I thought my eyes were crossing, or I was about to have another attack of vertigo. It looks a little off kilter. I was wondering if you'd send it to me for further observation. Elbesaar
Many thanks for the kind words - I also started another birth year set - but for my Grandmother - for 1891 ...as I left off with a Half ... here's my 1891 Half... ....yes, there are many more 1891's ...almost as many as the 1889's !! I am very pleased with this Quarter - a newp [ 2 yrs ago ... ] Better images forthcoming. Okay - let some one else play now - I feel as if I have taken up too much Board space... Elbesaar
1898 was once a favorite date - as my Grandmother said it was her birthyear ! Well, the Ol Gal lied...she didn't want to tell me her true age !! Imagine my surprise when I found out the truth !! I had put together a great Proof set and Mint Set from 1898 - and it was all for naught !! I have a few 1898's still - but - these two coins are heading to the Block in Anaheim in August ...
