ldhair
My goodness Boiler, what you can put on the table. That has to be the most well matched early proof set I have ever seen. Please tell us more about it. How did folks store these in their day?

BOILER78
I wish I knew more about the set. I bought it a couple of years ago just as you see it here. I think it is obvious from the state of preservation that the set was maintained by a collector and passed on to future generations of serious collectors. Hard to imagine that it survived all these years without someone polishing the "tarnish" off at the same time they were cleaning the silver tea service? Here is the complete c/n/s set.......... Sorry no gold (very sorry! )

ldhair
Thats close. You could play that if any date on the coin is a match to the post before you. We now need a Seated dollar or anything with a date of 1840. Any new dollars with an 1840 date?

ldhair
I like it Irvin. Looks to have a really nice clash on the reverse. I'm a sucker for a nice clash. They made a lot of the 1853 arrows but it was the first of a three year type coin. That makes it cool in my book.

ldhair
This 1854 arrows is the second of the three year type coin. I don't have a 55 to post. Seated is a really fun area to collect. Did I tell you I like something with a clash.
