Just Bob
Welcome to the forum. The very short answer is $15 to $20, based on recent sales on EBay.
Coinbuf
Welcome to the forum, for future reference this section (the marketplace) is for selling coins not for asking questions. Questions should be asked in the newbie or US coin sections of the forum, please do not start another thread about the value of this coin I have asked the mods to move your thread to the appropriate section. As to your question, no your Barber half dollar has minimal value, a coin's value is determined by how rare a coin is and how good the condition of that coin. Your coin is not rare and the condition is at the lower end of the scale, value is less than $10, most of that is for the silver metal value of the coin. Sandon
Welcome to the NGC chat board. The "Newbie Coin Collecting Questions" forum would be the best place to post topics with questions like yours. Your coin is a 1915-S Barber half dollar, which had an original mintage of 1,604,000 pieces. Half dollars of this design type, named after its designer, Mint Engraver Charles E. Barber, were minted from 1892 to 1915. The "S" under the eagle's tail indicates that the coin was made at the San Francisco mint. This common date coin is worn down to "Good" condition, which is the usually the lowest collectable grade. Retail price guides list this coin at $20 to $24 in this grade, although it would likely sell for less, and a dealer probably wouldn't pay much over the current high $11 or so silver value for it. You should never hold a coin that may have collector value in your bare hands, except by its edges if you must. That's how coins become worn and discolored.
