Nickel Errors 2021D - 1994D 1 1

Hello, I was going through some nickel rolls and came across two 1994 D nickels with a double dome on the reverse.  I couldn't find any information regarding a double dome. Photos attached..  Also, I have another nickel that Jefferson doesn't have part of his face, the edges are odd and you can see that the JNF is stamped over the edge so it hasn't been filed down The 1994D nickels are not in the mint condition. but the 2021 D nickel seems to be in good + condition.  I'll be happy to submit more photos if needed.   Could anyone tell me any information about these three nickels?  Should I have the one graded 2021 D? or should they go back to the coin jar for spending   thanks for any help and information.  OldSchoolMe

     As NGC does not offer free opinions, you should post questions like these as topics on the "Newbie Coin Collecting Questions" forum for the opinions of forum members.

    The "double dome" appears to be strike doubling, a.k.a. mechanical or machine doubling, which results from a die being loose in the press and does not have collector value. I have seen many Jefferson nickels with this sort of flat, shelflike "doubling" on the dome.    The 2021-D Jefferson nickel appears to have been severely damaged by being crushed or scraped. (The designer's initials "JNF", while still visible, have been deformed.) I know of nothing that could have happened during the production process at the mint that could have resulted in the coin having this appearance. (You can check error-ref.com to see if this appearance might correspond to any type of mint error listed on that comprehensive site.) I certainly wouldn't risk the grading ($19) and error attribution ($18) plus per order processing ($10) and return shipping ($28) fees, plus your own shipping costs on a coin that will likely be determined to have been damaged and only worth its five-cent face value.

The '21D looks like an early stage dryer coin. In other words, damaged.
