A quick search on ebay suggests that this piece is readily available for little money. Sorry, not a rare piece.

   Your item is a privately made brass medallion of a type popularly collected by children many years ago. In my experience, they are presently of little or no value but might be worth saving.

Numista refers to it as a token. There are some on eBay for less than $10.00.

A:  Oh, I don't know... never got one in change, don't know anybody who has. Come to think of it, never saw one before... this is the first time I ever heard of it!
