Lansdell Posted June 11 Share Posted June 11 I collect Lincoln memorial and wheat cents. I don't know much about 2009 to current. I came across this 2023 when I emptied my daily change for a quick look under the TOMLOV like I do most days. I was checking for the extra V, but noticed it looks doubled. Obverse and Reverse. I'm sure it's just die deterioration, but I just can't let it go until I know for sure. With that being said I would love some expert advice and to humbled once again. We would have to see the coin in person to examine it. The grading team will have the final say once we get the coin here to review and grade. Please let us know if you have any concerns. How would I go about sending you the coin? Your coin has no true hub doubling, what you see is just die deterioration and a bit of worthless strike doubling exacerbated by the extreme magnification. It is not an error or a variety, just an example of poor QC at the mint. Keep it if you like it, however it would be a total waste of money to send for grading, but certainly that is your choice. You cannot have the spread on both sides with a Doubled Die. which as Coinbuf pointed out, would be a variety, not an error. Also overkill on the photos, one of each. is all that is required.
