First, let me say, “How grateful I am that you’re taking up your time to look and answer my question. “

I came across a 1973 quarter that a few things look off to me. I’m attaching pictures for your review.

1. “A” in dollar seems off to me?

2. The very bottom of his hair is it supposed to look like that?

3. Is this Double Died?

4. Is this worth money?

5. should I have this graded?87F0959C-0044-476D-9620-D3E13FE0E6B6.thumb.jpeg.a9953d7966bbb076cdedc96541f09877.jpeg

The answer to all your questions is no. It is just a quarter with circulation wear that is worth 25 cents. The scratch you mentioned is caused by a coin wrapping machine.

FYI- The correct terminology is Doubled Die.

Debwitt thank you for asking such a polite question. You did everything right ! Clear cropped pictures of both sides of the coin, a clear set of questions and polite. Unfortunately, your coin is just a normal wear and tear quarter as Greenstang mentioned. We do appreciate your kindness and welcome to the group!

keep hunting!

1.  Sorry I cannot see anything out of the ordinary in your photos

2.  The photos are not sharp enough (on my monitor) to see anything unusual with the hair

3.  The correct term is Doubled Die, and from what I can see it is not

4.  It is worth one quarter of a dollar

5.  Only if you have $60 you want to throw away.

It is a worn, circulated quarter. Worth 25-cents. Looks like other pocket change quarters.
