Sent coin as mint error

I sent in one of my coins designated as a mint error, but when I received the coin back with my others this past week it was encapsulated with no explanation. I have submitted error coins in the past and was charged for the examination and a short explanation was provided. This one was not. How do I get this coin verified as an error coin and do I need to send it back in and pay an additional fee? It was marked on the invoice as an mint error.
