JKK Posted March 26, 2020 Share Posted March 26, 2020 A plated coin has had additional metal applied to it. A toned coin has had the existing metal discolored in some way (sometimes attractively). Since a quarter is copper/nickel, if it were to sit on the right surface long enough, one side might tone up. I think that's what this happened to this one. Stang is right--value US$0.25.
