Authenticated 2019 silver eagle mint production error

4 posts in this topic

Good day all

Recently I purchased a roll of 2019 silver eagles and going through them I found one that has some sort of material struck into the shield. I had an expert look at it and said it was definitely done during production and this roll was purchased by me from a very reputable Canadian buillon dealer sealed the whole nine yards. I have attached a picture and any information as to what type of mint error this is and if it’s cool to have in my collection. Cheers

Hello and Welcome Defjef!

What you appear to have is a strike through error.  Here's a great article by our hosts which explains this better than I ever could:

It's a pretty significant one, too.  Nice find.

I hope that this is of some help!

Thank you very much Mohawk. I appreciate the quick response. I guess my next step is to have it graded. Cheers and happy collecting.
