Authentic coin with protective ring or Token, Medallion, Novelty Piece, etc.

Good Morning all. I am curious if the 1880-O Morgan pictured below is a coin in a protective ring or a novelty item/ replica. I've compared the weight to an 1881-O which I know is real and the weight of the 1880 is only a few grams more than the 1881. There is a small break in the band which shows reeding and appears to be only silver.
