Thank you for your post. I have copied the link to the NGC price guide below but please note that we do not list pricing for details graded coins. NGC does not appraise the value of coins therefore our price guide is compiled from 3rd party resources and auction sales.

Thank you! How would you compare an UNC OBV Damage to a Mint State coin? Are they comparable in value? Would the coin compare to values of MS-60+ or would it depend on how severe the damage is or would none of it apply?

Coin values will always depend on many factors and it is ultimately up to the consumer as to how much they are willing to pay for an item

We do not appraise coins, therefore cannot provide advice or suggestions about value. Please refer to other sources such as recent auction values from reputable companies such as the ones below to compare the coins.

Think of it more like an XF to AU.

This is a pretty good rule of of thumb, if you are buying. Of course, it will vary, depending on the particular coin, but ,.on average, dropping one to two letter grades, or 10 to 20 points,  on the Sheldon scale will give you a fairly good idea of the value of a details coin. Of course, if you are selling, a dealer will probably only offer the price equivalent of 3 or 4 grades lower.

So, in other words,.if you want the retail value of your Unc coin, search completed auctions for your coin in XF grade, and for wholesale value, search for  coins graded Fine.
