Upgrade for 1909 S VDB RB

If I submit my 1909 cent that was originally graded MS 65 RB (red brown), will the color of the coin be guaranteed whether its grade is upgraded or not?

The cent is in a rather old NGC slab and it may have changed colors before I recently bought it? Will the same pertain if i just want to get a new scratch-resistant holder?

Thank you for your post. NGC has a 10 year grade guarantee for copper, bronze, brass or copper-plated coins as the surface can change over time. Please enter the certification number and grade at the link below to find out if the guarantee is still in place. If it has been longer than 10 years our graders would need to evaluate the coin to determine the proper grade and color designation.
