Double Prisoner Cent

2 posts in this topic

How does an error like this happen? I pulled this coin out of circulation and noticed it had two distince sets of "Prisoner" bars across Lincolns portrait.

I know this error happens from die clashing. But to have two distince and separate clashes in different areas makes me believe that somehow this coin was struck out of collar on one of the two instances.

This really baffles me.

When I try to see your picture, it's all pixilated, so I can barely tell it's a cent.

So even though I can't see it, I thought I'd mention that if your coin is otherwise normally round, you may just have some stuck-on glue from when someone glued two cents together with a reverse facing the other coin's obverse.
