1593. Germany. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. DAV-9072. Heinrich Julius (1589-1613). AR Taler. Obv: Draped and armored bust left dividing date. Rev: Wildman holding tree, standing left of arms, on which are three helmets. Beautifully toned and scarce. NGC AU-55. Price: $1500

Saxony. 1671. DAV-7633; KM-565. 48mm. Johann Georg II, 1656-1680 Medallic Taler. Award of the Order of the Garter and celebration of the feast of St. George. "Knight of the Garter, St George's Day Celebrations" Johann Georg II had been installed as a Knight of the Garter in Windsor, on 29 May 1671. Obv: St. George slaying the dragon. Reverse: Nine line inscription in laurel wreath. On the election to Order of Garter. NGC AU-55. Price: $1,650

Austria. ND. Ferdinand Charles, Archduke of Further Austria (1646-1662) Double Taler. DAV-3363. Tyrol, Hall Mint. Obverse: Bareheaded bust right. Reverse: Crowned eagle. A charming large flan silver piece, beautifully toned in medium gray with hues of bluish lilac iridescence. NGC AU-58 and undergraded IMO. Price: $1,500
