A really rare coin

 

I received this email on ebayabout the2014 Kennedy 50th Anniversary Set

 

Hello, I see you are selling the 2014 P Kennedy Proof half dollar. I have this set too and I believe I am actually the first person to discover something of even greater value about this particular coin of the 4 coins set, that the mint did not tell anyone about. You see the very last time the Philadelphia mint made a proof set of coins was in 1964 which was of course the first year of the Kennedy half. The next proof sets came in 1968 and from then on were made at only the San Francisco mint. So That means that this 2014 P Proof is the first one made there since 1964 and so being another 50 year anniversary should mean for any seller such as yourself that it is more like twice as valuable as a collectible coin. This is historic and therefore means more money.

All silver and gold coins are minted at West Point, NY P D S and any other letters you may like. ALL come from the Mint facility at West Point.

In 1999, Philadelphia minted the last clad proof Susan B. Anthony Dollar.

Unfortunately the files are replete with later year "P" mint marked proofs. Where they were truly minted may not be known for years to come.
