1838 SEATED LIBERTY HALF DIME (Large Stars)

NGC MS-64* $850

A lustrous, nicely struck example that exhibits interesting toning patterns. The obverse ranges from gunmetal blues to russet tones while the reverse displays lighter greens and cobalts. A lovely coin which NGC deemed worthy of a star designation. One of only 11 star designated 1838 half dimes and one of only 84 for the entire Seated Liberty Half Dime series (business strikes).

1807 DRAPED BUST QUARTER (B-1, R.3.)

NGC XF-40 $2,990

Evenly toned in a rich, original steel gray. The strike is strong but a bit uneven, as is common with the date, with some softness in the upper obverse features. Some pitting in the obverse die is also evident. The usual reverse die clash marks are evident, especially the drapery folds through OF.

1917 STANDING LIBERTY QUARTER (Type 1)

NGC MS-66FH $1,950

A lustrous premium Gem with a needle sharp strike. Lovely light golden-rose patina in the centers, deeper blue and green hues at the peripheries. A beautiful example of this 2 year type. Nicely toned SLQ's are scarce. This is one of them, IMHO.

1795 FLOWING HAIR HALF DOLLAR (O-108a, R.4.)

NGC VG-8 $1,290

This variety is characterized by several die defects around star 1 and a rim break on the reverse that covers several segments of the milling. A light die crack through the tops of AME of AMERICA confirm the later die state. Darker gray-brown fields marry with the lighter honey-brown devices to create a surprisingly appealing coing given the low technical grade. There are no distracting abrasions to note.

1853 SEATED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR (Arrows & Rays)

NGC AU-55 $750

Completely covered by a deep charcoal patina, but with hints of blue, gold, and lustrous surfaces concealed beneath. A well-struck, clean, and attractive lightly circulated example of this one-year type.

1799 DRAPED BUST DOLLAR (B-5, BB-157, R.3. Die State II)

PCGS XF-40 $4,990

Medium navy-blue and apricot colors embrace this bold coin. A few slide marks on the cheek and a pair of small rim bumps at 2:30 and 4:00 are of little import. A bold die crack through STATES and a defect on the U punch for UNITED affirm the die marriage.

I've gotten a few requests for better pics of the 1795 so here goes. The pics above were from 2004. The coin has since been re-holdered to a scratch resistant prong as you can see here:
