2004 Clad Proof Sets

6 posts in this topic

I noticed that the US Mint has sold out of the 2004 Clad Proof sets, but not the Silver Proof Sets. What are the thoughts here about the possibility that these sets might rise considerably in value over the next few years. I assume that the Clads were lower mintage than silver.....What are your thoughts and opinions? confused-smiley-013.giftakeit.gif

The clad 11-coin proof set had a mintage of c. 1.8 million. This is the lowest clad mintage, ever. The mint set had a mintage of 844K which is the lowest mintage since 1963. I can't remember the silver proof mintage but with the introduction of the five-coin set, I'm sure that this reduces the number of broken 11-piece sets.
