what I thought was a rare coin is a fake

I found what looked like a 1959 no mint mark wheat cent a few days ago. with my trusty 7x lighted magnifying glass it looked good. however when viewed with my 100x microscope it was easy to see that it was a 1950 with a tail added to make it look like the rare 1959. now that my dreams of a new home and muscle car are dashed. I'll just have to keep looking and find that rare coin to make myself rich. who knows maybe my powerball ticket will pay off.

A very disappointed man.....Mike

Too bad Mike, was hoping you hit it big !

Must have been really good counterfeit to fool an experienced Lincoln Cent collector, can you show a pic of the coin?.

Oh boy, to paraphrase an Oriental colleague of mine, "there is sum ting wong with this coin”. Best of luck getting that “find” coin in the future. God Bless, Rich
