The Hollies

Hi everyone. It has been awhile since I have posted anything to the journal boards. Today I added my latest 2 additions to my Lincoln Memorial Registry sets. I added a NGC MS67RD 1963 and a NGC MS67RD 1961 Lincoln Memorial. About 2 years ago a few fellow collectors and I got together and started helping each other on finding affordable coins for our sets. We notice that we were competing bidders on several occasions. We got together and would notify the others of which coins we were interested in bidding on. This worked great for about 2 years as there were plenty of examples every week through Ebay and the various auction houses. Recently though it seems that the majority of auction houses have raised starting prices to the point that some coins start out at more than list value. I have not bought any coins from any of the auction houses since last year. Most of the coins I have added recently have come from private sellers. On a side note, the 1963 I just added was suppose to be going to VUMC409. As most of you know due to recent health issues with Michael's wife he is having to cut back on his collecting pursuits. Michael put in a good word for me to the person that was selling this coin and we were able to work things out. I in return sent Michael my 1963 NGC MS67RB example to add to his collection. Thanks Michael for your help. Anything you need my friend, just ask. He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

Great coin and even better story. I'm glad Michael has a chance to pick up a 63, even though it wasn't the one he really wanted. Friends here are the best in the world!!

Beautiful coin! I'm a little jealous now but I'm sure the RB is great. You would not have bought it otherwise.

Thanks for being there.
