1940-D NGC / CAC MS65* (STAR) FB 10C

 

Exceptionally smooth, glassy surfaces struck from polished dies. NGC gave it a STAR for a fully PL obverse and a borderline reverse. Glassy mirrors with a frosty portrait that lends a hint of Cameo to the obverse! D-mint Prooflike coins from the 1934-1954 era have proven rare, and this high-end, seemingly under-graded piece is a gorgeous example.
