No offense meant, Dool, but if the Irish had to spend tokens even to fart, it's clear that the British regime in Ireland was pretty oppressive at that time. We colonials certainly got off easier, since our Declaration doesn't say anything like "He has forced us to spende Tokens to tax ye Farting."

For sure. I believe that there are coin collectors who don't actually care about the history involved, but I sure haven't met many. To me that's the core appeal, the connection with history, wondering where it has been and who might have owned it.
