Wow, I like the retro holders!

 

Today, I received a retro holder Silver Eagle. You have to see these in hand. The black core makes the coin and label sick out!

Too bad NGC didn't stick with the black core from the beginning.

How popular it's becoming, let's hope NGC might make this a option in the future. I would love to have some of my coins re-slabbed in these holders but, NGC doesn't offer it at this time.

I strongly agree I wish NGC would adopt this background for all its coins. The contrast is so much better than the white. It makes both silver and gold toned coins pop. just a newbees thoughts

I wonder what the value increase/decrease will be if they are holdered in the retro black holder?? Any thoughts?? Just curious I do not have any coins in the retro older, but might consider it if it brought more of a premium.

The Retro Holder certainly shows off the Silver Eagles but I doubt that it would be as attractive with darkly toned Silver or Bronze coins. Even if NGC offers the Retro holder as an ongoing option I will stick with the white holder for most of my coins.
