A New Twist in the 75th Anniv 2 Coin ASE Set- Coin and Currency Set

9 posts in this topic

The assumption is that if it was a reverse proof they would have said that, and the price would be higher. The description is lacking in that it does not even say 2012-S proof though that is again the assumption since they specifically mention it commemorating coin production at San Fransisco.

Thank You.

Your comments are exactly what caused me to question what is being offered.

It seems the question is open until the Mint clarifies (or someone receives the product and answers).

With Respect,

John Curlis

Hello John, many thanks for letting us know right away. If it does turn out to be the S proof, as we can probably assume, and considering the gradual decline in the recent silver spot price, and that the 75th anniversary ASE set was already costing a pretty premium, it might lead to some order cancellations, from those who have that option still available. The new situation will probably cause pickier buyers to scrutinize their sets even more carefully than usual, and be more prone to returning any that appear to be imperfect. Let's see if there is yet another mint surprise to come.

its probably the (S) instead of the S at that price

As a proof, that is doubtful. They have been very good at mintmarking the proofs. They have a history of not mintmarking the bullion.
