My feature Primitive Money for Monday April 16 is Siamese Canoe Money or Lats.

Siamese Canoe Money or Lats are uncoined pure silver ingots. Canoe Money is usually pointed or tapered at each end, the center sometimes is hollowed out, and they closely resemble a tiney canoe.

I obtaied this specimen in the late 1950's. It measures 3.5 inches long, and has a weight of 44 grams.
