Trying to get the best shots with what I have!

 

Been working on my photos again lately.everytime I look back through my pictures I always find some thst I dont like.The camera that I am using is a kodak easyshare 12 megapixel.I have it set for closeups at 6.1 megapixel with the flash off.below is my latest attempt.how does it look?

Looks great! I use a 10 megapixel Canon Powershot Digital ELPH with no flash set in macro at 1.2x - 2.4x digital zoom, anti shake on with a 3 second delay. Lighting seems to be the biggest issue for me so I adjust contrast and file size when I compress my photos to make up for my poor lighting. Your photo is very nicely lite and I like the indirect white light, it makes for a nice MS shot, looks good. I also found a nice little free photo editor called PhotoScape that lets you crop circles very easily and has a wide range for adjusting file size

Very nice... try adding a small, diffused light above the coin to eliminate the shadows around the rim

Looks good. Do you use a lighting stand, tripod, or hand held? What lighting do you use?

just a small 2 foot flourescent strip light suspended @2 feet above the coin.cool white lamp,741color code.i am a electrician so this stuff is easy to come by!!!
