Coming to the FUN Show ? Barber Quarters available ! Images slowly being added

19 posts in this topic

I have made arrangements with a Barber Quarter collector to take on consignment,

his collection of AU Barber Quarters. 85% are PCGS , 10% are NGC, plus a smattering

of net graded NCS and DGS.

50% of all the coins are CAC'd, most are AU 55-58 and only a couple

are a tad lower.

I will be at Holsonbake Numismatics at the FUN show

.....Table # 4 7 6.

No presales - the coins will only be available at FUN.

This is an almost complete collection, missing only the Big Three,

and, sorry, but I am taking the 1909-O in PCGS 55 for myself.

These opportunities don't come around every day. Please make an effort

to stop by HOLSONBAKE - I should have the coins back from the photographer

by the opening day.

Pricing has yet to be determined until I have the coins in my possession,

which should be by this Thursday, 12/15.

PM' s will be answered on Thursday.

This is unfortunate, because I am looking for this material, and I don't travel to shows.

Sorry Jim, if I were in the business on a regular basis, I'd be

happy to send the coin with a normal 7 day return policy.

I'm taking these coins on as a consignment for a friend. He

wants a smooth transaction yet still reap the maximum he can.

Possibly you'll know of a friend who'll be at FUN and you can trust his

opinion on these coins.

Wish I could help more, but my hands are tied.

Picked up the consignment yesterday - 13 hours round trip.

( 4 hours of flying included ).

Very nice group of quarters.

Am sending 16 to Messydesk for imaging.

Once I receive the CD, I will post the images

as well as the list of coins available.

Regardless, please stop by Holsonbake Numismatics

at FUN, at Table # 4 7 6 ... Way in the back ... I mean...

Way - Way in the Back !!! doh!

I am no photographer [ as these images will attest to ]

but I thought I'd show a sampling of the general quality

of what this consignment is like.

Sorry, no reverse images - these images were taken with an iPhone.

I'll post a few every day until I get the 16 images back from MessyDesk.

He was given the pricier coins to image.

Here is my feeble attempt at imaging [ via an iPhone2 ]

The show was a success and most of the coins sold.

The balance has been consigned to Holsonbake Numismatics in California,

Glenn is a Barber specialist and goes to many shows on the West Coast.

He will be at Long Beach next month.

I will update this thread with the coins available later on, along with

Glenn's email address.

Yes, the 1909-O sold immediately.

Thanks to all who came by to say hello.

These are all consignment coins - and a few

really tough dates are available still. Why the

1909-S PCGS 58 CAC is still unsold in way

beyond me. It's a very tough coin and this one

is a real beauty.

Also in the consignment are a number of Seated Quarters

and they are:

1839 DGS 45 - not - net graded - Nice Coin !!

1853-O DGS 15 - not - net graded. Tough coin to find !!

1854-O DGS 15 - not - net graded. Nice circ coin !!

1855-S DGS XF Details - Cleaned.

1858-S DGS VF Details - Environmental Damage. Not that bad, really.

1859- P DGS Light Damage - NetbGraded - can't remember grade.

1862-S DGS VF Detail - Cleaned

1891-O DGS VF 20 Detail - Cleaned

Last but far from least... An 1892-P Barber Dime DGS 63. Beautifully light toned.

Should be in a better holder and easily a 63 - would be a great type coin.

So, stop by and say Hi to Glenn Holsonbake

and his assistant, Dennis Hengeveld.

Two great guys and Glenn is a Barber expert as well.

As a matter of fact, Glenn and I are co - teaching a course at the second

session at the Summer ANA in Colorado Springs. It's going to be an in depth study

of all the Charles Barber series, Nickels, Dimes thru Half Dollars and US Commems.

Patterns will be discussed. Lots of hands on examples to look at and study, as well as

The Unique Die Cap 1898 Barber Quarter in. PCGS 62 with full Reverse Brockage.

I will also have my Newp, - 1895-O Dime PCGS 64 - Die- Cap . As well as a few other

really neat surprises that will be on loan from error specialists.

I strongly suggest that you make an effort to attend the second week of the

ANA Summer Sessions. Hope to meet you all there !!

I'm bringing this thread to the top because there are quite a few coins

still available. I will be starting another thread with up to the minute availability.

I can't amend this Thread, as there is no option to Edit earlier posts.

I was pleased to learn that most of the Seated Quarters were sold.

The collector who consigned these coins to me was a collector who

enjoyed finding key dates with great detail but with minor problems.

Off the top of my head, I know that the 1901-P Quarter in PCGS 58 CAC

was sold.

If there are any coins that interest you, please get in touch with Glenn Holsonbake @

GoKings10@ATT.net

Thanks for looking.

Mike
