The Collectorama Coin and Currency Show this weekend

The 51st Semi-Annual Collectorama Coin and Currency Show

will be held October 7-9, 2011, at The Lakeland Center, 701

West Lime Street, just west of downtown Lakeland, Florida.

The show is open to the public on Friday and Saturday, from

10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There

is a $3.00 admission fee, that is good for the weekend, but bring

this announcement along and present it to Show Registration

for FREE ADMISSION. There is also free parking, simply

mention The Collectorama Show to the parking attendant and

you will not be charged any parking fees. There will be hourly

Door Prizes, and all youngsters (12 or under) get a daily dip

into the Kid’s Bucket for a Free Handful of Money, and other

numismatic goodies, supplies and books will be distributed to

each youngster. If you plan on attending please bring along

some material to put into the Kid’s Bucket for the youngsters.

Lakeland is location within 30 minutes or so of Orlando and

Tampa, via I-4. Take Route 98 South from I-4, go straight on

South Florida Avenue, and follow the Lakeland Center signs.

 

Around 125 great dealers will be on hand buying, selling and

trading a wide range of Coins, Currency, Bullion Gold, Silver

and Platinum, Proof and Mint Sets, Certified Coins, modern

and older Commemorative, as well as many Neat Collectibles.

Both I.C.G. and A.N.A.C.S. will be on hand, and major bullion

dealers will be available to transact all Precious Metals items.

Many of the professional dealers attending Collectorama have

supported the show for 20-25 years, and work on close margins.

 

The Host Hotel for the Collectorama Show will be the fabulous

Terrace Hotel, which is a completely refurbished luxury hotel

that boasts a wonderful 5 STAR restaurant. The Terrace Hotel

offers a $69.00 room rate. Call 863-688-0800 to reserve rooms.

The Terrace Hotel is just a few minutes from the Lakeland

Center, and within walking distance of many of Lakeland’s

wonderful lakes and Wild Bird Sanctuaries. Lakeland is

also centrally located to many of Central Florida’s attractions.

There are also many great inexpensive restaurants in the area.

I'd better check my Michelin Red Guide....that might be worth the trip by itself!

 

The "Complimentary cotton balls, Q-Tips.." are great features for a bit of coin doctoring too.... :)

 

OK...looks like a nice venue and much better than the convention center.

Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille, 101 N. Kentucky Ave., (863)686-2228, is just a few blocks away from the show, and the food is great.

I wish I could. Unfortunately, not! I'll miss getting together with you. I hope you're able to find lots of goodies. See if you can find another nice textile toner for me, please?
