I snagged a nice coin today for virtually nothing...

I picked up a toned 1941 D Nickel.... then brought it home to prove what I thought was full steps...... Has 5 3/4 Steps Which would be full steps at PCGS right? Could be full 6 steps.... Nice pastel toning... would prolly grade 65 or so... and I snagged it for 2 bucks... have a look.....

Toning is better in person...

Thx... Also got a 1940 D with 5 1/2 Steps that has alittle toning on it as well for 2 bucks... these steps have 2 hits that would not make them full... and a blazing white 1945 D.. with full steps.. but the surfaces have a few hits in the coin.. probably ms 65...

Looks to me like you may have a 66/67 on your hands. Obverse strike just a little weak but very few distracting hits, nicks, etc. anywhere on the coin.

Nice find!

I was wondering about the observe strike... It seemed weak to me... Mabye some sorta strike flaw... but at that price I was not going to pass it up... I tried to point out what I think are some sorta flaw areas... just a wild guess...

Here is a pic of the observe
