Ancient Roman Silver Denarius...now with Pictures

11 posts in this topic

Hi all. I am actually from the comics side of this forum, but I happen to have a silver denarius I bought on impulse last time I was in Italy. I think that now I would much rather have the money to buy some more books, so I am trying to see if someone here might be interested.

On the card that came with it, it says; Rep. Romana

Domiziano 81-96 A.C.

I know that it is of Emperor Domiziano and it is in really nice shape. I paid 90 Euro for it (roughly $135.00) 5 years ago. Not looking to make a profit, just break even.

I have multiple transactions and great feedback on the Comics Forum.

Ok, I finally got a few pictures that I think are decent. This denarius is just slightly bigger than an American dime.

Not sure what the price of silver has to do with a coin the size of a dime.

Ahem, an almost 2,000 year old piece of nearly pure minted silver from the greatest Empire the world has ever known. thanks.
